Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) must investigate the murder of his childhood friend, who had spent some time in Beverly Hills. Foley flies (or drives) down to Beverly Hills to investigate the death of his friend. This unauthorized investigation winds up introducing him to two Beverly Hills cops.
There are many good things in this movie, the relationship between Foley and the two cops, Rosewood and Bogomil (Judge Reinhold and John Ashton) being one of them. The action is also great and the acting is superb.
It’s not the greatest movie I’ve ever seen, but there is nothing that really sticks out as being bad enough to be written done here.
Fun Fact: Gil Hill, who played Inspector Todd of Detroit, was actually a Detroit police officer and eventually President of Detroit City Council.
