Taken 2 (Review)

Plot

Angered over his son’s death, a father kidnaps Bryan Mills and his ex-wife and daughter in hopes of getting revenge.

Pros

Well done action is not hard to do, but many movies still fail at doing it. This movie succeeds in making exciting action sequences. Liam Neeson is still great as Bryan Mills. It’s not his best character, but you can’t argue with his rugged masculinity. The supporting cast is OK.

Cons

Sad to say, the writing is terrible. The dialogue between some characters is really bad, laughably so. No, I was literally laughing at some points. A sequel to the original was not necessary, but a sequel to this would be terrible. I feel a lot of people a really bashing this movie for some of the wrong reasons. This movie does what it wants to achieve and nothing more. I wasn’t blown away, but I’m not regretting the roughly $10 ticket.

Score

3 out of 5

Fun Fact: They’re considering a sequel. Now that’s not fun, that’s just depressing.

  1. I had a lot of trouble with this one. The writing was indeed terrible. The quick editing during the fight sequences was annoying. It had more than its share of problems

  2. Good review Austin. It’s as stupid as you’re going to get when it comes to action movies, but seriously, would you expect anything else? The sequel will definitely be seen by me, but I’m not really looking forward to it to be honest.
