C’mon, who is ready for some fun facts!
The Matrix
Nicolas Cage turned down the role of Neo due to family commitments. Too bad, that would have been epic! 😛
The Time Machine (2002)
Simon Wells, the director, is the great-grandson to H.G. Wells, the author of the book in which the movie is based.
The Thing (1982)
John Carpenter stated that this is his favorite film out of all the ones he made.
The Thing (2011)
Made as a prequel because the director felt that John Carpenter’s version was too perfect to mess with. That’s pretty respectable.
Nicolas Cage as Neo would have been an epic disaster!!! Lol
Lol, I probably should mention I was being sarcastic. That would be terrible!
Cage as Neo! Hell yeah! I would watch The Matrix every night if Cage was the lead. *cough-sarcasm-cough*
It probably would have made the sequels better.
Yes, Cage would have made everything better – he would have yelled “Put the bunny back in the box” just in case The Matrix needed a catch-phrase or something.
I can imagine him saying that! He’d also be like, “I know KUNG-FU”, with a very, very heavy emphasis on the Kung-fu.
Indeed. And then he would just burst into flames and hop onto his sci-fi motorcycle and beat everybody with a chain!
Then he’d yell and scream at somebody. Why? I don’t know. Nobody knows.
Nic Cage As Neo? I’m Sorry. That Really Would Have Sucked. A Lot. And I Like Nic Cage… …Sometimes. 😉
Maybe if talented Nic Cage showed up it could have been good. Like that would ever happen! XD
I agree with the other guys Neo is not a Nic Cage role.
A part of me feels like he could have been great, but in it most likely would have been the worst movie ever. 😀
Yayyy!! I love sci-fi!! Books and movies.
I’m pumped for some wicked reviews.
Well, you’re in luck, there are some truly wicked reviews this week.
Nic Cage as Neo? Can’t imagine that, though he’d still probably be better than Keanu Reeves.
Yeah, their list of actors wasn’t the best. I think they offered it to Will Smith, I can’t remember, though.
Funny that the director of the 2011 version didn’t want to mess with Carpenter’s perfect version of The Thing, yet he still thought a prequel (that would be constantly compared to the original) was necessary. I don’t know, that’s just interesting to me… 🙂
Yeah, I enjoyed the prequel, but I’m confused as to why it was necessary. The director seemed to have a lot of passion for the Carpenter version, though. That’s always nice.
Another interesting fact, The Thing from the 2011 version is the nephew of The Thing from the 1982 version.
It also has an equally attractive cast. Mmm, sexy creatures. 😛
I’m late getting to the party… : ( – good stuff out here on this post!
Thank you. Better late than never! Unless you’re running a race. No one wants to be last in a race.
Cage as Neo would be simultaneously terrible and brilliant!
Yeah, I would’ve seen it, but I’m not sure anyone could beat Ted “Theodore” Logan. Party On, Dudes!
What is it with Nicolas Cage, everyone wanted him for everything!
Sex appeal? No. Hair? Definitely not. Terrible, yet great acting? Maybe. Blackmail? Most likely. 😛
Haha acting xD
Great fun facts. Though I don’t think the “Matrix” would have spawned the sequels are have been as successful with Cage instead of Reeves.
Yeah, they are lucky that he turned them down.
